Biographical Information for Michael Adams
As a Trainer, Michael has had first-hand experience with the problems many companies face today. He is a results-oriented professional with a successful record of accomplishments in safety, loss prevention and risk & claims management that have been gained through over 20 years of practical experience in general industry and construction. After being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, Michael has held several senior Safety and Loss Prevention management positions in the retail, grocery, manufacturing and construction industries.
Michael's experiences and primary responsibilities include extensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA regulations, worker's compensation management and cost reduction, accident and incident investigative work, including investigative interviewing and management of SIU investigations; Michael has also developed and implemented comprehensive corporate safety, risk management and training programs for several corporations. Michael’s litigation experience has included pre-litigation support, reports and depositions. In addition, Michael has had a variety of industry experiences managing people, budgets, quality control, and hiring. Michael is an OSHA Construction and General Industry Authorized Outreach Trainer, MSHA Certified Trainer and has several other safety certifications.
John’s mission is “Helping Sites Become VPP Stars.” His private sector experience includes eight years as a small business owner, which enabled John to see the importance of keeping safety & health as a business priority for the successful entrepreneur. With over 32 years of federal service with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), he honed his skills in the art and science of workplace safety & health and its vital importance as a core value in every successful business.
John’s national reputation will ensure that your organization, whether large or small, public or private sector, open shop or union affiliated, will experience greater success than in the past. Success is measured through the continuous improvement in working conditions, increased trust, respect and communication between labor and management. It is further evidenced when the entire facility adopts the collective goal of membership in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). John has been called a “catalyst for safety & health cultural change,” and has been instrumental in helping deliver these desired outcomes in numerous facilities throughout the United States and its Territories.
